Heart of Dreams: On the Shores of Dreams

Wishing to deepen her exploration of botanical materials, Sophie Bouilhet-Dumas created Coeur de Rêves, a collection faithfully reproducing the seed of the dream herb — a plant believed to induce lucid dreaming.

The designer recounts the origin of the collection:
“Knowing my fascination with nature and the living world, friends brought back these seeds from Tropical Africa. As I removed them from their pods, I was immediately struck by their exceptionally soft, sensual surface. I chose one of them to reproduce exactly in ebony and transform into a jewel with a protective presence, inviting an inner journey.”

When consumed, the seeds of the dream herb are said to induce lucid dreams, in which the dreamer becomes aware of their nocturnal voyage. They are still used in shamanic ceremonies to invoke spirits.
