"My garden started thriving, and where others saw flowers, I saw jewellery..."
Born into a family of silversmiths, Sophie Bouilhet-Dumas trained her eye and skills as a creative director particularly for the English porcelain manufacturer Thomas Goode. She also designed objects for Hermès, Burberry and Paul Smith. In 2018, she participated in the curatorship of the first Gio Ponti retrospective held at the Musée des arts décoratifs in Paris.
Through her quest to sublimate natural forms, Sophie Bouilhet-Dumas embraces a philosophy that also relates to the Italian architect and designer. To the recurring question that Ponti asked himself throughout his career, “And what can I do today that is beautiful?”, she would reply to pay a tribute to nature.
