Garden Orache Seed

Known in French as the « belle dame des jardins » (the fair lady of gardens), garden orache is one of the ornamental and edible plants of the Normandy garden. Native to Central Asia and Siberia, orache was already used to heal hunter-gatherers in prehistoric times. It was then widely cultivated in Roman antiquity, before becoming one of the most popular plants in the medieval vegetable garden. This plant is all the more fascinating as it belongs to the Amaranthaceae family, which has been present in our landscapes for over 87 million years.
