STORING YOUR JEWELLERY

When you remove your gold jewellery, place it carefully in separate compartments of a fabric-lined jewellery box to prevent items from scratching each other, which would dull their finish.

PREVENTING FALLS

To prevent the fish hook back earrings from falling off when you’re wearing a scarf or lying down, gently press the strong and flexible back against your ear to tighten it. You can also use the silicone backs included with your order. Be careful when taking off your jewellery in the bathroom, as it can be damaged when fell onto a hard surface, especially gemstones. If you take off your jewellery in front of the sink, we advise you to close the tap and put a towel over it.

SHOWER, BATH, SWIMMING POOL

Generally speaking, our fine jewellery can be in contact with water during your shower, with the exception of the satinwood.Contact with beauty products (creams, lotions, perfume, oils) does not affect the gold itself, but could stain the satinwood or ebony wood. This is why it is best to minimize such contact, as these products are bound to leave residues that can dull your jewellery. A simple cleaning with warm water and soap will restore the original shine of your jewellery.

 And for safety reasons, we advise you to take off your Mira Stella jewellery if you go swimming, as harsh chemicals such as chlorine, acids, sulphur and salt can damage or discolour the gold.

SLEEPING WITH YOUR JEWELLERY

Sometimes jewellery is so comfortable that you forget to take it off before going to sleep. With their toggle clasps, our necklaces are usually safe, but our fish hook back earrings can fall in your bed, or even onto the floor of your bedroom and end up in the hoover. Therefore, we recommend that you take your jewellery off and store it before going to bed.

CLEANING YOUR MIRA STELLA JEWELLERY

Cleaning semi-precious stones, gold, or platinum is fairly quick and simple. Place your jewellery in a small bowl of warm water with a few drops of dish soap. Stir to mix in the soap thoroughly and leave to stand for 15 minutes to loosen traces and dust. You may also want to use an extra soft toothbrush, preferably used, for a more thorough cleaning. Finally, rinse with clean water and dry using a soft cloth.
